Two Years, One Big Moment.

Hiyed CIC exists to harness individuality and create real employment opportunities for people who need them most. Two years in, the team had built something genuinely worth celebrating. The question was how to do justice to that in a room full of the people who had made it happen.

The evening needed to bring together the wider team and core stakeholders for a night that felt properly produced. Not a room with a DJ in the corner, but a real event with video screens, atmospheric lighting and support for the presenters taking the stage throughout the evening.

Like many organisations planning their first major internal celebration, they knew what they wanted the night to feel like. They were less certain about the technical decisions needed to get it there. They needed someone who could take that brief and handle everything from the first planning conversation through to the final song of the night.

The first thing the Hiyed CIC team needed was not a quote. It was clarity. Clarity on what was possible in the space, what would actually make a difference to the feel of the evening, and what questions they had not thought to ask yet.

We worked through the event structure with them, thinking about how the room needed to shift from dinner to presentations to dancing and what that meant for lighting states, screen content and the flow of the evening. We made sure the DJ and their presenters had everything they needed from us so they could focus on doing what they do well, without worrying about the technical side failing beneath them.

Bishop Auckland Town Hall is a genuinely impressive space when it is used well. Our job was to make sure the production matched the occasion so the team felt the weight of two years in the room, not just in the speeches.

Bishop Auckland Town Hall looked and sounded exactly as it should. The lighting transformed the room from a civic space into something with real atmosphere. The screens kept the brand front and centre all evening without it ever feeling corporate or flat. The presentations landed clearly and confidently because the microphones worked and the team behind them had nothing to worry about.

For Hiyed CIC, the most important thing was that the people in that room felt the significance of what had been built in two years. Good production does not call attention to itself. It just lets the moments breathe. That is what the evening delivered.

For the team organising it, the outcome was simpler still. They spent the night with their guests, fully present, without a single technical concern pulling their attention away from the people who deserved it.
